Homemade plum jam

Homemade plum jam

Yield: approximately 3 jars of 250 ml each

Preparation time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of plums, pitted and chopped
  • 500 g of sugar
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, combine the plums, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer for 45-60 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reaches a thick, jelly-like consistency.
  4. If you prefer a smoother texture, you can blend the jam with an immersion blender or a regular blender.
  5. Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars and seal tightly.
  6. Allow the jam to cool to room temperature before refrigerating. The jam will keep for several months in the refrigerator.
