Homemade plum jam
Yield: approximately 3 jars of 250 ml each
Preparation time: 1 hour
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of plums, pitted and chopped
- 500 g of sugar
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- In a large pot, combine the plums, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 45-60 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reaches a thick, jelly-like consistency.
- If you prefer a smoother texture, you can blend the jam with an immersion blender or a regular blender.
- Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars and seal tightly.
- Allow the jam to cool to room temperature before refrigerating. The jam will keep for several months in the refrigerator.
