At C&L Fruit, we recognize the importance of protecting our environment and are taking decisive steps to integrate sustainable practices into our operations. Innovation, both in our plant with cutting-edge technology and in our orchards through advanced genetic programs and tech-driven monitoring of our fruit trees, not only allows us to produce the highest quality products but also optimizes resource use. Additionally, we hold international certifications that validate our good agricultural practices, both in the fields and on our production lines.

Renewable Energies

We have developed our first photovoltaic field in Pichidegua, VI Region, which allows us to harness clean energy and reduce our carbon footprint. This project is the starting point for other initiatives that will utilize renewable energy sources to help us decrease our reliance on fossil fuels while optimizing our resources to produce high-quality fruit more efficiently and sustainably.

Waste Management

We are committed to properly managing empty packaging after use. We conduct a cleaning process to remove any chemical residues before sending them to specialized recycling centers. At these centers, the packaging is shredded, washed, and repurposed for the production of new products.

Technified Irrigation

Our fields are equipped with advanced irrigation systems that optimize water usage, ensuring each plant receives the precise amount it needs. This approach not only reduces soil erosion and nutrient loss but also conserves water resources by applying water accurately. Our drip irrigation system maintains the appropriate moisture level in the root zone, enhancing soil structure and microbial activity, and ensuring a more efficient use of water.

Cutting-Edge Genetic Programs

We collaborate with PSB Vegetal on advanced genetic programs to develop fruit varieties that are more resistant to pests, diseases, and extreme climatic conditions. These enhanced varieties enable us to optimize the use of water, fertilizers, and nutrients, thereby increasing agricultural productivity.

Measures in the Plant

Water Sanitization

At C&L Fruit, we use a water sanitization system called Accutab, which helps us keep our water clean and sanitized. This product allows us to control and reduce microbial load in the applied solution, optimizing water resources and enhancing food safety. By maintaining high standards of water quality, we ensure that our processes support the overall safety and quality of our products.

Waste Management and Recycling

At our Los Robles plant, we are committed to responsible management of our solid waste, supported by Resiter Chile, a company specializing in waste recovery. Through their collaboration and that of other partners, we transform our waste into new resources. For example, some of our organic waste is converted into compost, enriching agricultural soils and used in animal feed production.

Additionally, cardboard and plastics are carefully sorted and stored for reintroduction into the production chain. We also have an internal recycling plan, which includes a compactor for baling cardboard and other waste materials. This approach ensures that our waste is managed efficiently and sustainably, minimizing our environmental impact.
